Specifically - do you know if the driver you have downloaded is later than the driver that previously worked?
I.e. try using exactly the same one that worked before.

When upgrading to a later Win 10 build, MS may well provide later low level drivers than with the previous build. That too can cause problems in a few cases.

    KB4023057

KB4023057 Update to Windows 10 for update reliability - November 15 - Windows 10 Forums

    Update to Windows 10, versions 1507, 1511, 1607, 1703, 1709, and 1803 for update reliability

    Last Updated: Nov 16, 2018
    -----------------------------------------

They updated this one, to include 1803 and they are pushing it, again, through WU.
I'm still in 1803 and as I have decided to defer FUs for 30 days, I used "wushowhide" to hide it.
Hope this helps someone who doesn't want to move to 1809 now!

Microsoft released another CU, but it seems that it is only available for those in the RP ring, KB4469342 (build 17763.165) I can confirm that this CU doesn't include the fixes for the bugs of the Action center, I don't know if it includes or not the fix for the bug with the file association, I never had that bug in the build17763, I only have it in the build 17134, most likely this CU includes that fix but, as I said, I can't confirm it.

As a clean install it works reasonably well, just few more hours of setting up SW to same as my Skippy build and I'l be ready to activate it with MS account and go with Skippy again. Have to transfer it to M.2 SSD where Skippy resides now. That old system was really old, ever since first W10 upgraded from W7, it shows it's age. Benchmarks don't show it but it feels smoother than old one. Just hope I don't forget something to transfer from old one. I have several backups of both anyway.

This is mine with OS Build 17763.134. It's been a while since I checked it the last time.

You're using a tool that has not been updated since April 2018. InSpectre does not check for mitigations other than for variants 1 through 3.

I would be surprised if the uCode update database is more up to date than April 2 2018, Intel released revised uCode on July 13 and again on August 8.

    Spectre Threat CVE Designation

    Speculative Store Bypass 2018-3639 4
    Rogue System Register Read (Meltdown-GP) 2018-3640 3a
Lazy FP State Restore (Meltdown–NM) 2018-3665 NG

InSpectre is no longer relevant, use Specucheck or the PowerShell script

I am using the same driver that I used in 1709. I reinstalled them again in 1809 and they won't work at all. I think that I may roll back to 1709 and turn off automatic updates and wait until next version 1903 comes out.

Yesterday I noticed in task manager higher CPU loads, with 75-80 Celsius at idle. Gaming 90- something degrees. So I went back to 1803.

I tried updating using the Windows 10 Assistant and when it was installing at 89% i left it overnight and went to sleep. Now i woke up to check and the laptop screen was off like when the system is on stand-by. Pressed any key,but no response so i had to force shut down. After i turned it on it said reverting any changes made. What could be?

I forced it. I've even tried making an install disk including 1809 and trying a clean install and that also failed so I think it must be somewthing that Microsoft doesn't like but aren't telling me what it is.
I'm not good at reading error reports so am probably giving up on my Win 10 partitions until 7 dies in 2020.
How did you created the disk? I went to check the creation tool, but it still downloading old version.

What could be is you should have briefly pressed the power button to resume from hibernation (or deep sleep).

However, entering this power state during an upgrade could produce unexpected results, such as a rollback that you've experienced.
