Current Status of Windows 10 October 2018 Update version 1809

I'm leaving all the machines here to bring it in in their own time. I get other updates with no problems but so far I've not been offered 1809. On this HP Envy 2 in 1 Convertible I'm running Windows 10 Home 1803 17134.407, not sure what version number the other machines are without going to look but they're all running 10 Home 1803.

There's an Asus Notebook, 2 Acer desktops and a Toshiba laptop.

Oddly enough, apart from 'The Big One' (which didn't affect me) it's been one of the least buggy Features Updates I've seen. I've been running 1809 since Oct 2nd with no significant problems. I'm just one of those early beta testers that kept 1809 released October 2 because I wasn't affected by any of the bugs that some had.

I have Macrium Reflect backups, so I can restore if need be . . . and did once because I "joined the Insiders Preview" which got me to Build 18282 (or something like that) on my Production partition.

So far, I've gotten updates by "checking for updates" and manually going after 17763.168. Everything is good so far, with no problems on this approximately 5-year-old HP desktop with added RAM, upgraded video card and 500 GB SSD drive.

Only issue we had was non functioning HP printer which a lot of others have had.

I also had a problem with my Brother printer. The 1809 re-release installation put some strange files in the print queue and the printer wouldn't work until I deleted them. The same thing happened when I originally upgraded to 1809 back in October (I had later rolled back to 1803).

My Canon printer has been running flawlessly.

I had some and same problems with my HP Lj 1025 printer on both builds, regular and Skippy, resolved only by using universal HP printer driver. It's poor with options but works now. There are some 3rd party printer enhancing programs but it's enough that it works. Haven't tried my older ones HP Lj6 and Lj4M, don't have cartridges for them anyway. HP programs don't work since 1709.
