Yet I'm on latest version of 1803 so it should update without problems

Any ideas anyone (or it's back to UUPDUMP for an iso).

    cheers

Is that machine an original icelandic, only thing I can think of, as several weeks normally have to go by before some languages are supported correctly.

    Hi there

    Thanks
I'll just wait and see on this machine. Other machines (with Eng) updated OK. I'm in no rush as this machine works fine anyway.

    Cheers

    Hi everyone :

Yesterday I was wondering "1809 or 1803" , but ultimately installed 1809 and checked the CPU cycles and the temperature reading and it's OK. Normal usage temperature readings and gaming usage it's normal.

I'm wanting to give Enterprise 2019 LTSB a try to see if its usable as my daily driver. You can't install that via the MCT ISO. It was removed from My Visual Studio subscription when 1809 was pulled.
Plus I'd like to have the Visual Studio 1809 Consumer and Business ISO's. The MCT ISO is the Consumer ISO. I have the MCT ISO and will use it if need be.
    Have you tried Technet?

TechNet is no more. It was killed off years ago. I saved my product codes, my account was terminated when they closed it down. You can't download any software or request any new keys via TechNet. There are some resources tied to it still there, just no ISO downloads etc.

ISO's were supposed to have been available to MY Visual Studio subscribers at the end of the week. End of last week. They will likely show up at some point. I'm learning not to believe anything Microsoft says these days. I don't think the left hand knows what the right hand is doing.

    According to this maintained record:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...update-history

    - there's an upgrade block in place from Nov '16 (scroll down)...
(I suppose I'd have to ask - is that partial (for some machines) or total?).

That would be partial, just for specific machines with particular issues. MS have always blocked the rollout for machines with known issues until they had a fix. But until now have not so openly documented each and every block. They have sometimes mentioned specific blocks in blogs though, so for example we knew about the one for Broadcom and the Creators Update...

    Microsoft said:
Blocking availability of the update to devices we know will experience issues is a key aspect of our controlled rollout approach. We decide what to block based on user impact, and blocking issues are a high priority for us to address as quickly as possible. During the time it takes to address an issue, we want to limit the number of customers exposed to that issue. For example, our feedback process identified a Bluetooth accessory connectivity issue with PCs that use a specific series of Broadcom radios, ultimately resulting in devices not reconnecting as expected.

Unable to Update Windows 1809 on HP Spectre x360 Laptop

Since 1607 I have been successfully using MCT to create media for updating my computers and often computers of my friends and associates. I've never had problems up until the 1809 re-release. As soon as the release came out I downloaded the image using MCT and created an ISO from which I created a DVD and a USB drive. I successfully updated my desktop mainframe computer from the DVD with no issues. But when it came to my HP Spectre x360 laptops the updates consistently failed with error code 0x800F081F - 0X20003 and the notice that "The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during INSTALL_UPDATES operation" The installation then rolled back the computer to its prior state. I tried the update in several ways:
    • From the DVD in an external USB DVD drive
    • From the USB drive I had created using MCT
    • From the Windows download page using the UPDATE NOW button
    • Mounting the ISO file and executing setup
In all cases the results were the same.

Note my HP Spectres run from EUFI mode and not legacy mode.

I'm suspicious it's a hardware failure but unsure what is the best approach to resolve.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated

The feature updates never get auto detected for me, I always have to use the MCT.
