I tried 1809 again and at first I thought it would work but a few things bothered me enough that I went back to 1803:
1. Brightness issue. Brightness will drop to 50% on restart or boot. Issue will go away temporarily for a few restarts/boots but then it comes back.
2. Microsoft changed the way colors behave. If I use default wallpaper and let it choose color, as I always do, it now gives a very dark blue to title bars and tops of browsers where before it was a light easy blue. It's not easy to correct since any change makes some things too light or too dark. If I change theme on FF it slows it slightly - changes loading behavior. I like it very fast. I had a code that at one point seemed to work using userChrome.css file, but now doesn't - it doesn't makes the text of menu bar dark and instead keeps it white. I just find this very annoying. Why change a basic thing from how it has behaved from the beginning.
3. If i right click on desktop etc and choose "new", like I'm going to create a new folder or text file, it just sits there for 5 seconds or so and does nothing. 1803 does not do this.
The bug of the brightness and the bug of the "new" option were fixed some time ago in the insider builds, so it is expected that soon they will be fixed in O18U with a CU, (I'm not sure if the latest CU, KB4469342, fixed those bugs).
EDIT: After doing some tests, I confirmed that the bug of the "new" option in the context menu was not fixed with the latest CU.

I think I will now post my problem as solved with the problem of my Creative Labs problem. I will stay with version 1709 installed without any Microsoft updates because once I get the update for version 1803 that's where my problem starts. I know my computer is not compatible with Windows 1803 and above but mostly I am using it as a test program. I can easily swap my HDD to Windows 7 without any problems at all. Thanks all for your help and suggestions.
I realise Winactive is no longer about, but has anyone else tried Specucheck from the link above?
What's it meant to look like?
All I get is a quick screen flash and that's it - nothing running in Task Manager
Am I missing something here.....?
Oh, still on 1803, not that that should make a difference to this issue....should it?
