    Just a little question:
Why would MS not update there iso to the latest build (17763.134) in this case?
can we expect an update on the iso file or will it stay on
    17763.107?

'Cause the D patch will come along and fix all the niggles the security fixes broke....

....plus when the 2018-12 Patch Tuesday Cumulative comes it's all .107 needs....

It has always been MS practice to leave the ISO at the base build. The latest Cumulative Update is then used to make a new install up to date, either by checking for updates during the install or afterwards. Maybe once in the life of a version MS will update the ISO, but certainly not every month.

For example, the 1803 ISO was issued as build 17134.1 and was updated just once to build 17134.112. The 1709 ISO was not (as far as I know) updated, while 1607 got an updated ISO about half way through its long life.

1709 was probably not updated due to the kernel changes around Spectre

I've had a strange issue on two computers after the last two upgrades. After computers have rebooted all the icons, folder thumbnails are gone. Only thing left is the text or name. Clicking on the text opens the shortcut or folder as always. Had to put a backup back on to correct this issue then reinstall the upgrade again. Since then no issue on either computer. Haven't been able to understand how the icons, thumbnails were corrupted or how to fix other than Macrium a backup restore. Haven't read about anyone else with this problem.

I wonder when they will FIX this ever-lasting inconsistency... Two totally different right-click menus...

    Attachment 212235
Looks like the black one is the Start Menu right clicked and the other is from right clicking on the Desktop.

    Hi there

    @RingTailCoon

the 2nd Right click menu is if you click anywhere on the SCREEN -- your first one is the context menu when you right click on the task bar so task functions -- different functionality -- I don't think it's a defect but a "feature" !!!.

    Cheers

Exactly, Jimbo, and that's the way things have worked in Windows 10 for a very long time.

Well, I'm well overdue for clean Windows install on this main machine, it's been around since W7 and all technical preview and insider (fast and Skippy) builds. Stil works (almost)fine but feels "dirty".
Only doubt is should I install this one and then re-enroll into Insider Fast or Skippy (if possible) or clean install last Skippy 1809-18227. Due to many programs installed, I can't do it all at once so it may have to be dual BOOT (on another SSD) for a while until most programs and settings are implemented.
While I was reading, I was wondering how you were going to get it done. I think installing to a second SSD is about the best idea I've seen in awhile. That way, you can pick and choose among the programs you want on your newly clean and spiffy Windows 10.

I CU'ed both my rehabilitated RP builds to .134 and there was no failed update. I think the fails are usual missing SSU (WU not processing them in order) and the W10 Update history lists .107 and .134 in the wrong order as they've been given the same date (.107 should be left alone by WU for .134 anyway, IMO)
When the update was offered to me through WU, I just let it do its thing and when it was finished, I had .134 without having to install .107.

Yes that was my first plan, I have a spare 120GB SSD and may install it on it. I also have recent (this morning) MR backup s I may install on main M.2 SSD and than make MR backup of it and see where to put it after. Last install attempt didn't go too good and my main disk now has 4 -5 extra partitions. I will have to restore it again. I don't have an extra license so this one will have to stay unactivated and with local account.
