As I said before, it has always been this way, this is nothing new, those options don't appear in the insider builds and will reappear in the "RTM" build (as it has always happened), I am totally sure of that.
I am not trying to tip the balance in either side Matin's or yours, but I think he ought to know about what you are saying. Here is an other quote from the same article even though it is for Business:

Microsoft did announce that it would get rid of the Semi Annual-Channel (Targeted) setting which deferred feature updates by about four months for business users

There's been some minor changes like my settings windows in 1803, the windows were black but context menus were white. Now in 1809 the settings windows are still black but the context menus are that awful dark greasy chocolate brown.

Reminds me of opening a candy bar and it's covered with that whitish coating It's called Chocolate bloom the bars still okay to eat just doesn't look good.
You do all the CU updates and all after? There are some fixes/changes for the chocolate font and other annoying things.

OR....just wait till tomorrow and Patch Tuesday. You will get a slew of 'em.

In a few weeks the first build with the status of "RTM" will be released (which may not be the definitive one), when that happens, I will return to this thread to show the difference between that build with the "RTM" status and the previous build...

I think that is the best thing to do for now, because the whole thing seems a bit confusing to say the least. I will also come back and don't take it as if I don't believe you. Cheers!

At this rate, RTM and spring update will be pretty late, heck, many didn't get fall update yet.

They (RTM & 19H1) can take all the time they want as long as they don't bring lots of bugs to fix afterwards.

So... why do I keep running into the computer readiness branch being changed from non-targeted to targeted and then being grayed out? I'm getting tired of having to change the group policy every day.

it showed 1803, and I've been having this happen to some of my customer's computers too. I know 1809 is more stable now, but I still want to wait until it's released to everyone.

I think no matter what, and sorry to put bluntly, it would be a good idea to make a full system image backup and upgrade to 1809. This way you can check to see if you are having the same issue. The thing is, if you don't, you might be having a lot of trouble going from 1803 to 1903. As a matter-of-fact, you might never be able to upgrade if still on 1803.

With you system image backup, you can always roll back, if something is not to your taste after the upgrade. That is my personal take on the matter.
