Here are my results. Fresh install, brightness, file association bugs still there. Cannot set Firefox as default browser. Reboot changes brightness down to 50%. Same crap as before.

Have you checked for driver updates in reference to your onboard Intel HD 630?

Same here. Also don't like darker color of theme. Seems a little slower as well. I'm going to stay on 1803 and forget about 1809.

Well, the unzip problem is fixed in 17763.134, if you use File Manager to unzip to a location with an existing file of the same name it now asks if you want to replace it, and will replace it if you say so.

To be fair, MS never promised the file associations bug (also present in 1803) would be fixed today. Five days ago they said the fix was expected for late November.

    Symptom Workaround
    [ADDED 11/8]
After installing this update, some users cannot set Win32 program
defaults for certain app and file type combinations using the Open with… command or Settings > Apps > Default apps.

In some cases, Microsoft Notepad or other Win32 programs cannot be set as the default.
In some cases, attempting to set application defaults again will succeed.

Microsoft is working on a resolution and estimates a solution will be available in late November 2018.

Yes, it had been fixed some time ago in the build .107 in the Slow ring and RP.

I see you're on a laptop. Plugged into an electrical outlet or not?
