A play on words. This system was created using 1507, has been upgraded twice a year all the way to 1809 which was installed last month. Its never had a BSOD ever !

But, when I disable it, I can't see what it says:

I totally agree with your approach. If you remember, it was a minority that had their data files deleted after installing 1809 update when it first came out. The vast majority of users around the world didn't have this issue, even though @bru said it didn't want to do it like you have suggested. I think it's the only way to find out why @bru is not receiving 1809 yet. Remember the following:

All of the above is to say that if I were in your shoes, I would heed the advice of @f14tomcat and give it a try (have a go at it) in order to find out if you have any issue after upgrading to 1809 with the .iso of MCT. You can always roll back with a system image backup. LOl!

Either you don't understand what I said or you are mistaken. Microsoft wants to install all updates for their OS, that is a fact. Sure they give you other ways to do it but for 99% of the world who aren't literate enough this is how MS decided it should be handled starting with Windows 10 when they changed the update process. I shouldn't have to manually install an upgrade to their OS because they can't distribute it to me. Not sure why people defend a company that four months later can't distribute an update? People here like to install, tinker, play etc. I don't. I expect MS to distribute and install their update, so far they haven't.

Even after 41 years of working with computer operating systems, I still want one that works reliably. Mine does now and that's why I'm waiting for MS to get their act together (ROFL) for this one. I appreciate the 1% who keep the daylight shinning on things.
