Some Windows 10 users are having problems with their Pro licenses today, as users on the company's Community Support Forums and Reddit are reporting that their Windows 10 Pro systems are saying they are not activated, and telling users to install Windows 10 Home instead. Most of the reports appear to be coming from users who obtained the Windows 10 license thanks tothe free upgrade path Microsoft offered back in 201, suggesting that the issue is somehow related to it.

This was one of the first steps I was taught during my software and database development courses. If MS would have done this, we would not have these kind of issues.![]()
Thanks for the info, I've been tearing my hair out trying to figure this out
They must have upgraded their activation servers to 1809 and deleted everyone's digital license files stored on them.![]()
Mine too, this morning.
Mine was a Home machine but upgraded via store. It has been activated digitally in the past so Microsoft really have screwed up here.
From the above quote Microsoft Community Forums Microsoft has since acknowledged an ongoing issue with its activation servers, which is causing systems to falsely report this information, commenting that the problem should be fixed within a couple of days:

gee thanks Microsoft !! and here's me barely over the excitement of having Skype as a badge on my taskbar.
It's worth noting mine is on the 1803, not an insider build, so it is effecting all versions of windows 10 Pro that have been upgraded in any way.
