My faith in MS has been shakened lately. It's like they have students working on programming for Windows 10.
    Yeah, I feel the same.

That's what happens when most code monkeys know and only work with C#/.NET and a bit beyond that, but are not even close to being professional at C/C++ and Assembly. Those are from completely different worlds. A lot will easily go wrong.

Mine was a fresh Win7 Pro installation upgraded to Win10 Pro nearly 2 years ago and used as my daily driver ever since. Activation nag appeared this morning, and the troubleshooting link tells me it's now seen as a Win10 Home license, and that I must install Win10 Home.

Makes me wonder, just how many people did they scare into paying for a new license with that handy link? What's next, demand Bitcoin, or it'll start deleting users data? The latter one had already been tested recently, with good results...

Knock, Knock, after I "repaired" mine yesterday, it is still good to go as of this minute.

I have my Win7 Pro machine up and running in parallel to the tasks I have to do until this thing becomes stable again.
