MSFT acknowledges some Win10 Pro licenses being mistakenly deactivated

Hi folks

think it's working again now.

From restored 1803 build with all updates.



Means Windows is Activated in English.

Will try again with 18277 tomorrow.

Deactivated again

I've lost all my trust in MS. After reading this post and problems MS have created Again! I disconnected my internet connection,
performed back up image of OS and data and disabled updates. I'm no longer in a rush to be screwed by running the MS Gauntlet.

Pro still activated.

Ran the activation troubleshooter and it told me that it found a Home digital license instead of a Pro one. I've never run Windows 10 Home.

Hopefully all these probs will be fixed tomorrow.

Somebody needs to get SACKED (FIRED) tomorrow -- but given the nature of how some businesses work these days the guilty party will probably walk away with several MILLION dollars "Bonus". !!!

Just ran troubleshooter again. Now it's saying "We found a Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview digital license for this device running Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview."

Ok, sounds good to me...

Then "To activate using this digital license, select upgrade your edition of Windows." . If I click upgrade it tells me that it's going to do an upgrade and restart. Don't really trust that at this point considering I'm already running that version.

Troubleshooter works again now. But it had started working once before, then stopped working again so I'm not holding my breath. I'm activated (for now)....

Official "answer" from Microsoft

We are aware of reports that some customers’ Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise machines are not recognizing their licenses as activated. Users may receive the following notification: “Error: you are running Windows 10 Pro, but you have valid digital license for Windows 10 Home," or one of the following error codes 0X803F8001, 0xC004C003.



We are actively working to resolve this within 24 hours. You can still use your PC; however, the watermark will appear until activation is restored. Thank you for your patience.



We will update this post with additional information as needed and once activations are restored.
