    Hi folks
Bog standard windows installations work just fine so it won't affect 99.9% of typical users out there.

Probably only people like us lot on the Forums trying out all these builds every which way from Sunday -- however doesn't Ms test these things before willy nilly before letting them out of the door.

As a previous poster said probably Ms are trying to close the Free upgrade loophole -- but these days I doubt if too many people are still using that method so why on earth risk the ire of half the planet for a few meazly dollars !!!. I'm sure Ms isn't going Bust (at least not just yet).

Build 17134 (1803) .376 is fine and activated.

    Cheers

Incorrect - it is affecting lots of users regardless of build/Insider status etc.

It is clearly a major server breakdown.

    Exactly same problem here.
The problem is on Microsoft's activation servers. There's nothing you can do at your end to fix this. You'll just have to ignore it for now until MS fix it at their end

    No problem.....
....until Windows next runs an automatic check for activation. AFAIK that's a scheduled task, isn't it?

Hopefully they would have shut down the activation servers while they fix the problem, or is that being too logical?

I guess I'm going to finally have to learn how to use linux...

Have 8 PCs 3 have been deactivated. Wow MS....just when you thought the worst had come it just got worser.

Wonder what would happen if I put my Windows pro key in from Win 8 again....might register it on a working server?

Mine was a fresh Win7 Pro installation upgraded to Win10 Pro nearly 2 years ago and used as my daily driver ever since. Activation nag appeared this morning, and the troubleshooting link tells me it's now seen as a Win10 Home license, and that I must install Win10 Home.

They must have upgraded their activation servers to 1809 and deleted everyone's digital license files stored on them.
    Sounds about right :)
