Yep - everything is back to normal for me.

Regardless of the facts of how and why this happened, credit to the engineers who fixed/are fixing the issue for a quick and painless resolution to this problem.

    It's a hardware issue!
Where does MS state it's a hardware issue?

    Morning All.

    Everything fixed again

I don't think it's just Software they need but General QA (on all their products including Hardware) and Testing strategies !!!!!!

    Cheers

Ok - fair enough but certainly a server issue not software our end. Semantics rwslly. From our viewpoint, it was a problem with the hardware we are supposed to communicate with.

Interestingly, there is a rumour doung the rounds that it was an internal attack by a disgruntled employee - don't you just love conspiracy theories - lol.

No system is 100% reliable. Things break.

You can only ever reach 99.99...% reliability with multiple backup systems.

The cost of increasing reliability beyond a certain level is usually far too disproportionate to the benefit gained.

In the end, little harm was done, and it was fixed fairly quickly.
