My test machine (System Two in my specs) has (had?) a digital licence obtained by upgrading from its OEM-installed W7 Pro. I tried slmgr /dlv from an elevated command prompt and Settings now says we can't activate because this machine doesn't have a digital licence.

And as I was typing that the message changed to 'We can't activate Windows on this device at the moment. You can try activating later, or go to the Store to buy genuine Windows. Error code: 0x80072EE2".

Edit: slmgr /ato says 'Error 0xC004C003 The activation server determined the specified product key is blocked' which is odd, as it uses the generic -3V66T key

From the Neowin link in post #1

According to some of the reports, while the system says that users have a Windows 10 Home license, the Microsoft Store link in the settings page blocks them from attempting to buy a Pro license.
On my test machine, under 'All owned', the Store says Windows 10 Pro was purchased in July 2016, but that 'Windows 10 Pro won't work on this device'.

There must be some serious management issues at MS Too many issues happening for them to handle without the general public being affected.

So far all three of my pro upgraded units are ok

Try slmgr /dlv on one of them - mine was OK until I ran that.

    Hi folks
Bog standard windows installations work just fine so it won't affect 99.9% of typical users out there.

Probably only people like us lot on the Forums trying out all these builds every which way from Sunday -- however doesn't Ms test these things before willy nilly before letting them out of the door.

As a previous poster said probably Ms are trying to close the Free upgrade loophole -- but these days I doubt if too many people are still using that method so why on earth risk the ire of half the planet for a few meazly dollars !!!. I'm sure Ms isn't going Bust (at least not just yet).

Build 17134 (1803) .376 is fine and activated.

    Cheers

So was mine - at first. Do you dare run slmgr /dlv?
