Also, I have a neckloop device that connects to a bluetooth device and beams sound via the T loop.

These are the dogs fluffy bits!

By coincidence I have a prearranged audiology (retuning my present hearing aid) appointment in just over a weeks time....having difficulty understanding female voices particularly on the radio.... shall pass on your information and find out whether it would be suitable for myself... thank you for the links.

Interesting.....as I have a similar problem.....will contact my audiologist to see if I could benefit.
@dencal Go for it. My wife has the exact hearing problem as described by @cereberus. The bi cross hearing aids work wonders. She can now hear traffic approaching from her right, the bi cross aid now eliminates what was a safety hazard.

Yeah only problem is you instinctively look right first, then left if deaf on left side or vice versa. But as you say, you hear things you could not before.

I know this is all off topic, but a worthy conversation .

Hahhah, when I did a manual virus scan using Defender, the Estimated Time Remaining counts upwards exactly 1s / s rather than starting from an estimation and approaching zero. Typical Windows minutes

This is really hilarious. At about 75-80% scanned files (according to the Defender progress bar) the time remaining jumped from about 5 minutes to about 1 minute. At 90% progress the scan was suddenly completed.

UPDATE: According to Defender the scan lasted 59s, while in reality it took about 6 minutes. Jeez! Can MS get anything right? Hahhah! (Can't stop laughing!!! HAHAHAHAH!)

    Hi folks

Have Windows activation servers gone bonkers again on this release

I did an update to this release --not a clean install.

Checked Office 2010 status -- marked activated TWICE !!!!!!! What's going on.

Text means Product Activated in English.

It's been like that for a long time now on defender scans. Microsoft's estimation of time has always been problematic. We used to call them Microsoft Minutes.

Yep, it's been like this for as long as I remember. Does not require a rocket scientist to fix this issue. I wonder what other bugs they have been bringing along for the last 25+ years and never bothered to fix.

Totally agree and the 'unclickable' area around the notifications is just another 'touch-centric' design flaw. They are so wrong. We used to have to install horrid third party hotkey animations to get something as slick as the current unobtrusive volume and brightness slider visualisations.

Microsoft ARE fixing what is not broken to satisfy their breakneck "feature" provision.

    Hi there

seems to me Ms are going Backwards -- the last most sensible Professional desktop OS they did was Windows 7.

Look at this screenshot from AOL back in 1996 (and that was for kids !!!!).

Current W10 desktop looks as if it hasn't moved on from those days

perhaps this version of Windows should be aptly renamed Windows Kindergarten edition.

    Cheers
