Yeah, I can only hear in one ear in mono, wirh a restricted frequency range up to 5KHZ (speech is up to 8-10 KHZ). I found it difficult to listen to (particularly) women with high pitched voices no matter how loud they spoke.

I have amazing hearing aids called bicross aids. I cannot hear anything on my left due to a brain tumor that killed the hearing nerves). With normal aids, I could hear nothing on left, and so only had 180degree hearing in effect. The new aid on left is not actually sending sound to my left but beams the sound to my right hearing aid.

So now I get 360 degree hearing but all through my right ear. It was a little bizarre at first e.g. I can now hold a mobile to my left ear and hear it on the right!

The other amazing thing is it stretches high frequency sounds to a lower frequency. All women now have a deep husky (and sexy) voice - lol.

Music no longer sounds the same but hey I can hear things now.
That is great. Technology has improved many areas, hearing, nerve stimulators, and the like.

It seems that this build contains several changes not mentioned in the flight notes, two of them are these:

    Volume flyout.

    Cortana and Search.

I've never used Cortana and, as I said in another comment, I use a program to control the volume of the system, so I didn't notice those changes.
I don't use Cortana anymore since I find her more annoying than useful.

For volume I use hardware keys both on desktop and laptop.

Doesn't cover up much unless, of course, you're using Groove...

    Hi there

agree - I don't have a problem with snip&sketch but I don't get the date format thing some people get in file explorer on this build.

Not sure what the logic is but it seems bonkers having the same build ostensibly out for testing but different users get different bits included in it.

Not sure how modern QA and testing is done these days but IMO it's a bonkers way of doing it -- people should be testing on the same software mix for a given build.

Jimbo, with help from some of the guys here, I discovered why I didn't have the Insider version Update to 1809. I had purposely not put my "Production" system on Insider, since it's used for real world work.

Once I changed it to Insider, I checked for updates and now have 17763.107. I guess I wasn't paying attention when we were told that Insiders would get to test the updated bits.

Was your suggestion regarding downloading iso with respect to reverting back to 1803 or up to 19h1?

I don't use much the keyboard to turn up and down the volume so I rarely see the old display, but if I had to choose, I would prefer the new one because, in my particular case, it is less intrusive, I use music apps in windowed mode and the old display covers part of that window.

It is true that the old on-screen volume display doesn't remain on the screen for a long time, but it can be annoying for some people, as I said, everything depends on particular tastes, I don't often see that flyout so I don't care if they change it or not.
