So far have had 2 fails. Its really frustrating. The last fail I let sit on 42% for like 8 hours and did not budge. Windows 10 Updates never install for me without hassle.

Are there any kb fixes I should install to make it work - or is iso the way to go? I am updating through Windows Update. Troubleshooter is useless .

@jmsync I gave up with Windows Update this 0.5.0-alpha · Tags · uup-dump / downloader · GitLab downloads the files and makes the ISO to mount. Took me 40 minutes for update including running the uup program and doing the update! No errors, easy as pie

    Hi there
As previous poster says - simply create iso - I use UUPDUMP and let its script create the Iso -- then install from that either clean install or update -- your choice. You don't need to be enrolled in any Windows insider programs either.

Around 25 - 45 mins average on typical systems done this way (after iso has been created).

On more than 1 system I just image then my install with Macrium and restore to another computer different hardware no problem -- it usually works after getting relevant drivers from internet and windows update. If ist boot fails on restored / copied system then 99.99% of the time the Macriium fix windows boot problems woks a treat.

    Hi folks

    Specific on this build :

Anybody else find the longer method of mapping a Network drive with file explorer rather annoying and not intuitive.
Now you have to use context menu on the left (main file explorer tree), click on Network and then browse for drives.

You can't click on the specific drive any more and then use context menu to connect network drive -- really annoying if you have network window open on right hand part of the screen with drives listed.

    Cheers

    Hello Andre,

That must be for this below under General changes, improvements, and fixes for PC.

Some Insiders may notice small differences in File Explorer over the coming flights – we’ll have more to share later about this later.

I don't have this setting available in my build 18277.
I've also got these new style dates - they are activated by default if you have been selected to test them.

Since you are one of the chosen few (), how does it look when you sort Date Descending?

This is another new thing that, apparently, only a few insiders have:

(BTW I have no idea why I got this option in File Explorer but it was only on the 32bit version not 64bit version)

I got my "no desktop" problem fixed by falling back to an earlier version with a Macrium Reflect disc image. The second time around (again) it seems to be OK. I've flagged this as a problem to the Insider group. But, I flagged this before and never got any feedback or comments about it.
