@jimbo45
I see what you mean.![]()
Hi folks
USB 3 devices (HDD's) when switched from Windows HOST to any VM running VMWARE -- OK - Guest OS sees HDD(s).
re-attaching USB 3 HDD's to the Windows HOST -- you don't see the drive(s) -- can only access via control panel-->admin tools-->disk management -- then on the relevant HDD(s) there's no letter - so add /change drive letter. Then OK. If you don't like control panel there's a similar setting somewhere - I prefer the old control panel ('cos I'm an Old Dinosaur !!).
Another issue with USB3 external HDD's -- when trying to remove one you get Device is busy or equiv message even though nothing apparently using it and led is not flashing. Try again a few seconds later and it's removeable OK.
Seems USB 3 external interface is not always 100% correctly functioning.

Nice name ... and, appropriate ...
But, I will say up front that I am NOT a fan of touch screens -- on PCs, that is. I've used three of them, two laptops and an All-in-One, and I don't really see the value of using them when I can find what I want readily in the menu system or using the search box.
So, to me, ever since Win8, when MS became "obsessed" with changing the default UI to support touch screens (which everyone NOW says is to support Mobiles), I've had a strong dislike for the Start Screen, and its miniature brother -- the Start Menu (as configured by MS.
I use varions Start Menu alternatives and like them much more, since they are NOT touch screen oriented.
Hi there @CountMike
Yes but more and more apps seem to be designed as if they are to be used on mobile phones with a decent menu system disappearing -- e.g edge browser -- where are the classical menu bars as per Firefox or IE11 e,g file, edit, favourites, tools etc on top of screen, or others which don't have any sensible cascading option.
