Hi there
@slicendice
I agree -- but if you had to remember what was on all these drives !!!!!!!!!! (note the Linux file browser I'm using is light years faster !!!!!!} your memory would make you real serious money in a fairground !!!!!!!! or on TV quizzes.
Note also File explorer still has that ridiculous 250 or so character name restrictions that Linux browsers don't -- with a lot of music categories etc and things like 10 TB drives directory and file names can get quite long
Anyway Disk size to map in Windows
Linux has no problems with these -- but File explorer makes a real pigs ear of the names
Linux sees :
Windows file explorer sees : It's a real dogs dinner !!!
How in the world do you then remember that lot to mount in Windows !!!!!!!
Also Please Ms do fix this file naming restriction.
Cheers

Hi there
@swarfega
there are zillions of different ones you can use -- Midnight commander is a good one -- I'm just using the bog standard one built into the KDE desktop (using KDE workspace as a GUI on that machine). Different Linux GUI's also have their own standard ones -- user gets a choice !!!!.
Still my main point is when is the wretched windows file system going to be fixed so it can handle long names. I'm not surely the only person on the planet using 10 TB HDD's etc.
Cheers
