There's a lot of old, great SW out there and would be pity if it doesn't work any more.
Absolutely, Count. I still like the Photos app for opening pics I've taken; it gives me a nice sized picture without all the folderol that comes with a photo app.

FYI, 19H1 (build 18272) appears to need uCode updates to enable Spectre patching.

It is no silver bullet for older machines, tested on an Arrandale laptop (Intel fix is available, not delivered via mcupdate, remained on uCode 0x6, when 0x7 is the update for CPUID 20655).

Edit: I needed to change my bullet

I'm thinking, after agonizing over the slow file system performance in this build, that I'd prefer to do a fresh load of one of the latest 17*** versions. I don't want to go through all the steps of a fresh install of this build ONLY to have the same problems in the end. At least until they fix it. So if anyone has iso's for one of the last 17*** builds, could you please send me a link? Thanks.

I was unable to update to this build on my two virtual machines and had repeated GSOD failures usually towards the end when in the last stages before getting to the login screen. One of the green screens indicated that the system was trying to write to read only memory and crashed. I then realised that for some reason this new build requires more memory than any of the previous builds in order to complete the update process or installation so I increased the amount of memory I assign to the VM to 4GB (previously it was 2GB). This has done the trick and I now have been able to update from 18267 to 18272.
