I don't know what it is about these recent builds, but Office 365 apps hate it on my PC. If I try to open a file that I've downloaded from email, Word (Excel, etc.) throws empty error messages and fails to show any text.

After attempting to open a document, it also causes Windows Explorer to lose text to varying degrees. Immediately afterwards, there was absolutely no text in WE, and now it's still missing some, although all the sidebar text is back now.

Since 18272 is now the official insider build iso we have crossed a threshold. I am running it but also running Windows for Workstations. Whether or not to run it on my real hard hard disk is still up in the air.

All of my office 365 apps work as expected except for Access—think the data bases are several generations old. My Word, Publisher, excel, outlook documents work as expected. Documents display as should.

Glad they're working for you. I've had this issue on the last two insider builds. Weird.

Sorry you’re having problems. Just wanted to give you feedback. Did you remove/reinstall office? I had office problems several builds ago - wouldn’t recognize my registration. Went for several builds then suddenly straightened out. Best of luck.

I had similar issues with some earlier Insider builds. What does your Office licensing status show?

    Hi folks

    @Kari

Office 2019 is just fine on this build - so must be a problem with Office/365

screenshot means in English -- Product activated and the build I think is the same as the current build on Office/365

I notice those people who seem to get most issues with this build tend to be running black or dark themes -- co-incidence ??

EXCEL, WORD,OUTLOOK,POWERPOINT,PUBLISHER,PROJECT,VISIO SKYPE FOR BUSINESS all working fine on office 2019 -- I don't use ACCESS although it's installed.

I only have 1 minor glitch -- can't get Language / keyboard icon to stay on toolbar at bottom right of screen -- however I just quickly use Windows key +L to get lock screen and change it from there -- only takes secs, you don't lose any work and it is hardly a mega irritant.

    Cheers

I appreciate the feedback. I didn't try removing and reinstalling because I had other less important issues with the build that made me decide to just roll back.

I've already rolled back, but if I still have the same issues on the next insider build, I'll definitely give this a try. Thanks Kari!

    Hi folks

    Spoke too soon !!!
    -
Can't get VMWare workstation rel 15 to work loading up XP VM - same VM works fine on 1803 17134.345

haven't tested it on any of the "standard" 1809 builds but will restore one to have a test.

on the 1803 build I get this

New Windows 10 Insider Preview Fast + Skip Build 18272 (19H1) Oct. 31-xp.png

on skippy - just a black screen that locks up entire machine and have to re-boot.

    Cheers
