Nope! Cortana is still enabled. Something is screwy - it shows the search icons and search in context menu. You still have to disable the Cortana part in gpedit/regedit.

Is this a new design to show Cortana is part of Search, not the other way round - I guess that makes sense?

I cannot detect any difference in answering yes or no to Cortana during a clean install!
Isn't that to determine whether you want Cortana's assistance during the install?

Maybe but why would it tell you to disable mic much earlier in sequence - it makes no sense to ask over halfway through.

I'm having issues with getting install to complete on both of my Dell machines.
Here's the report from the Venue Pro 11 after the first try:

Here's the report from the XPS 2720 after the first try:

According to Google, the 007 error comes from a hash failure between the download and the original source. I'm retrying that with some confidence of ultimate success. The other 0034 error text says something about a missing package preventing install from completing. I'm a bit more pessimistic about that one, but retrying anyway. Will keep reporting on progress or lack thereof. Sigh.

[PS Added 1:20 later] Both PCs made it through the initial install and have just rebooted into the post-GUI phase. Venue Pro is at 20% "Working on Updates;" XPS 27270 at 24% in the same install phase. I'll report back if either fails going forward. If history and experience count, making it this far usually means a successful upgrade in the offing.
[PS Added 1:40 later] XPS 2720 made the upgrade OK; the Venue Pro, however, just green-screened and rolled back to the previous release. I'll try one more WU-based update using WUMgr. It that doesn't work, I'll switch to the ISO instead. Sigh again.
[PS Added 3:12 later] Third time's the charm for the Venue Pro 11. I see a BIOS update is available for the machine. Hope it will fix my current won't-restart issues (have to pop the battery and disconnect AC, then reconnect, to get it to boot at all).

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that.

    Hi folks

just upgraded a laptop from 1809 (non skippy version) to current skippy -- seems expiry iminent so hopefully new release will be along soon. I have enpugh backups just in case.

Install was fine --installed from UUPDUMP Iso. No Kortana nags etc and kept installed language packs although I did have to change the display language after ist boot.

I did an update rather than a clean install on this laptop but everything seems to be working fine even Office 2019.

Laptop HP envy with i5 processor.

Note though looks like expires on 14 Dec.

All Insider builds have a short life span. It's intentional. So "Them" can't run a freebie forever. And other reasons.

That is the expiration date of the links and depends on the size of each of the files, If you try to download the file after that expiration date, this appears:

PSA - WSL wont work in Insiders Fast Ring Build 18272. The issue is now fixed and flighted for next weeks Fast Build. We recommend waiting until then to install. Sorry for the inconvenience

Unfortunately, Windows Subsystem for Linux will not work in Windows Insider Fast Ring build 18272. The issue has been fixed and will be in next week's Insider Fast build. If you've installed this build I suggest rolling back to the previous version. Sorry for the inconvenience.

There is an empty space between the title and the text of each of the options in Settings:
