    YES!

One of my old test PCs was on 17134.345, installed KB4462933 taking it to 17134.376.

Got the exact problem as you described - WiFi would work for a while, (anything from 5 to 20 minutes) then I'd have no network access, (browsers or Ping) despite hovering over the system tray WiFi icon and it saying "Internet access"

Then after a few seconds, yellow warning, and no connection.

I'm using a cheap, but good external WiFi dongle on this PC and the problem could be temporarily fixed by ejecting the dongle and reinserting it - then it happened again. Cycle may be repeated at will.

Looked for updated drivers for the dongle - none found. Several power down and restart cycles - to no avail.

Uninstalled KB4462933 so now back to 17134.345 and all is OK
Dear VBF, you descrived exactly my problem, step by step. Sorry but I'm italian and my english is very "italian".
I use the usb dongle TpLink with Realtek RTL8192CU chipset. Have you got the same one?

    UAUUUUUU I resolved my problem

    Use this instruction

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/097asrtpk6...192CU.rar?dl=0
Yes it's kinda random but I run it through Kaspersky Anti-Virus to make sure
Anyway I installed it and checked device manager, it didn't work at first as it was still using the faulty Microsoft driver
So what I did was to right click on the Realtek RTL8192CU Wireless adaptor and selected Update driver > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
Finally it gave me the option of 2 drivers, one from Microsoft which doesn't work and one from Realtek which does work yay!
Oh and another thing the above link also installed a software called Realtek USB Wireless LAN Utility which has some useful features

Thanks to NeostarNeko from Reddit.com forum

    I USED WINDOWS 7 64 bit drivers

Than I reinstall the KB4462933 and now 17134.376 is working

    @Warmikez

Thank you. My dongle is a "pin-Avid Wireless USB adapter."

However, I investigated and find that it uses a Realtek RTL8188CU chip - slightly different from yours.

(I grabbed your RAR from your Dropbox anyway - thank you.)

At the same time, I've found what might be a more useful one for me on the Realtek site

    https://www.realtek.cz/download-driv...ws7-32bit.html

It's a Windows 7 32/64 Bit driver for the chip I actually have, so i've downloaded it and will try doing what you did, but using MY download instead of yours. If that fails, I have yours as a backup.

So....never mind your English, Compagno - you reminded me to at least "think outside the box"

I'm short of time now, but I shall report back later this week when I've tried it
    Cheers!

I thought KB4462933 was working until this morning when it stalled out during boot. Power down, power back up then it works. If my 60 years experience in computers was 60 days I would have panicked :)

    Hi,

Is this the right way to update my 1709 to 1803?
    I get
"The update is not applicable to your computer"

    starting the MSU file.

    Thanks

No, this update is only applicable if you have 1803 already, it just installs the latest fixes for 1803.

There are several ways to upgrade 1709 to 1803 see these tutorials...

Update to Latest Version of Windows 10 using Update Assistant | Windows 10 Tutorials

Upgrade to Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

My preferred method is to download the ISO file for 1803 and run its Setup to start an in-place upgrade. That method is describe in Step 4 of this tutorial.

    Thanks Bree,

So an inplace upgrade (be it from w7, w8 or w10) is all the same ?
MS themselves say it just for upgrading from W7 or W8
    I am a bit confused

    Cheers

But you are 'upgrading' if you want to go from 1709 to 1803.

You have 1709. If you run an in-place upgrade using the install media for 1803 it will upgrade your 1709 to 1803. As part of that upgrade it will temporarily store your old 1709 in a Windows.old folder in case you have problems and want to go back. After 10 days the Windows.old folder should be deleted automatically.

    Ok, I understand.

It's in the language I guess: Windows Updates vs Upgrades.

    Thanks!

Yes. Sometimes I think MS like to call the upgrade to the next version of W10 an 'update' so as not to scare people too much
