Well, this one gave me a good fight. Noticed it only this morning or I would have to spend all night on it
First it downloaded twice and went thru "Installing" twice before Restart message. That one was working for more than an hour to say nothing at all, just reverted to 262.
As I made ISO in time, I mounted it on a USB and after a whole hour it came out with:
New Windows 10 Insider Preview Fast + Skip Build 18267 (19H1) Oct. 24-winstal-267-error.jpg
Than I mounted ISO in HDD and finally

I would love to know what the heck are they changing all the time, one goes smoothly and net one is full of you know what.

Last failed install attempt on ‎10/‎24/‎2018 - 0xc0000005

    And this morning, I found it at "Getting Things Ready" . . . again . . . it's at 20% installed so far . . .

Had one failed attempt, second time lucky. Total time taken 50 mins. Let's see what this brings to the table.

It will do whatever you want it to do when it's on battery; however, if the battery runs dry, you stand a chance of things going bad. So, best policy is to plug it in before any installation.

I'm not sure, but I don't think installations can tell whether the computer's on battery or regular electricity.

    Hi Wynona,

Understand perfectly, BUT as this comp is running Home - cannot turn off updating.

Know too well how updates slaughter the OS when thier installing and the machines turned off, no change there from previous versions thats why i posted.

Finally! After what looks like four failed updates, when I took over this morning, the 'chine cooperated and I now have Build 18267 up and running.

That said, I won't have time to run it through its paces this morning, so maybe this afternoon.

After many hours trying to Update 18262 with repeated "getting things ready", now find the same thing with 18267.
Have decided finally to quit as an Insider due in no small part to age related RSI in both hands, using a touchpad, mouse, or a pen is painful....that and the sheer frustration at having to spend so much time trying to do what should be a simple Update installation.

This is of no solace to your RSI, but I've pretty much given up on the WU method or even trying to make an ISO if it eventually works. I make an ISO with MiniDump, and update with it. Just finished Fast ring. 19 minutes.

After the first failure, I ran the WU Cleanup batch file and disconnected all USB Ports and rebooted. It failed two more times and I just let it go to watch the second World Series Game (Sox won again). After the third failure it downloaded all of the bits again, ran the install and finished with 18267 installed. ISO was created and I'll clean it up and continue testing tonight. BTW there was an Update for Office 365 insider after the install.
