Going around in circles here. Using Dell Venue Pro 11 and XPS 2720 as test machines. Both failed first install attempts before leaving GUI portion of install. Just got to restart on the XPS and it's now at 20% "Working on updates." The Venue Pro 11 is at 88% in the GUI portion "Getting things ready." We'll see how it goes. If anything else unusual happens I'll report back here. Sigh.

[Added 3 mins later] Ha! Switched to wired Ethernet connection via USB 3 dongle and download speed really improved. Already up to 50% downloaded. Used to do this habitually. Might help to resume that practice, eh?
[Added 5 mins later] XPS 2720 upgrade just completed. At desktop now. Extremely fast install, once the downloading is done. Wow!
[Add 16 hrs later] Work pulled me away from the Venue Pro. Came into the office this morning, woke up to 'Restart needed" bout 5 minutes ago. Just finished the upgrade and is now booted into 18261.100. Slow download pre-construction, but very quick post GUI install here too. Very interesting.

Hmmm.... now I dunno where it sees the compatibility - does the Store version fair any better?
PS Just not sure if the "Unaware" is UWP or not....
Worst one for me so far, usually wam/bam and it is done. This one kept changing from getting things ready to downloading and installing. Several time they were at 99% and then restarting all over again. Finally after 2 1/4 hours got the RESTART. "Your PC will restart several times" is an understatement. Sometimes 2-5 seconds in between. Now that it is up?? Macrium is complaining about an error #9 when doing an image. Macrium forums indicate that it is disk corruption. SFC /scannow (C:) completes with 100%, no errors. Tried several destination drives, same problem.
I'm on (at least) my third round of 'installing'. At one point a message came up that one of my drivers was known to potentially cause problems with this build, so it was being disabled. I was to contact the manufacturer to see if compatible drivers were available. NO indication of a) what this driver was, and b) who the manufacturer might be. WTF? This is seriously bush league. I really don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to take MS seriously.
