Is anyone facing the issue of not being able to change default programs/file type associations with this build?

Well, I jumped in and out of the RP ring to get the build. I can change the default handler of .png to Paint and it sticks. Just rebooting to see if it holds over a reboot.

Yep. It does. Chrome didn't clear my cached reply as I restarted possibly a little untidily. But I've edited it.

#41 How to do that? I really need to cleaninstall my rig, but I'm waiting for 1809. If I can get this image from insiders, I will really love it

Join Insider and set Ring to Slow or Release preview. Get update and make ISO (with UUPto ISO - there tutorials here).

To be on the safe side... System image (like Macrium) will allow you to roll machine back to original state. Or make iit in virtual system

I'm really out in the dark here. I have now joined Insider and Slow ring, and after 1 minute it found an update KB4464455, but it took only about 20 seconds to get this update, so that can't be data for a new image.
So how do I cleaninstall this 1809? I'm currently running 1809 (from an update from 1803 of the image Microsoft pulled back).

No worry, I'm using Acronis to be able to go back.

You've got apples and oranges going here. Insider is now at 17763.104 on Slow and Release preview.

1809 has been pulled, as you know. You can't get an ISO to clean install 1809 until it is re-released. You can't (shouldn't) try to use any manipulation from the Slow Insider to force feed the 1809 clean.

Bottom line. Wait. It will be soon. Use MCT to create an ISO for 1809 and clean install then.

That's the version I'm on right now! Will I then be able to reset this PC and start from scrath this way (without a bootmedie)?

With the Reset option in Settings? Yes....after it is re-released.

Oh, you already have 1809? Check if you stil have Windows.old folder. All the data is there.

    Download UUPtoISO from this Tutorial

Check where exactly is folder with downloaded files, copy path to it into UUPtoISO (just run it) and wait till it finish. My files are in this folder (I'm using Treesize free to locate it, others do search for .esd). Open folder shown in picture, and copy path from explorer.
