New Xbox Avatars have arrived
The new Xbox Avatars have been reimagined to offer an unprecedented amount of inclusive customization options that will continue to grow. The Xbox Avatar Editor offers a wide range of body types, letting you tailor your avatar however you see fit.
Capture a picture of your avatar to use as your gamerpic in the Photobooth, displaying multiple poses that can be paused and advanced with more control than ever before. Rotate and zoom controls help you get the exact look you’re after, and a wide variety of background colors let you set the scene. Choose a mood for your avatar to add a finishing touch.
The new Xbox Avatar Editor also lets you compare and choose between avatar generations. If you’re attached to your existing avatar, all the content from your original avatar’s closet is still available in the Xbox Original Avatars app on Xbox One and Windows 10.
Alexa and Cortana show off their Xbox Skills
Now you can interact with Xbox beyond Kinect and headsets with Alexa and Cortana-enabled devices. With the Xbox Skill, use your voice to turn your Xbox on and off, adjust volume, launch games and apps, start and stop broadcasts on Mixer, capture screenshots, and more.
Let’s say you have the Xbox Skill enabled on your Echo. Just say “Alexa, launch Forza Horizon 4” and your Xbox will turn on, sign you in, and launch Forza Horizon 4.
To start voice setup for Alexa, say “Alexa, open Xbox.” For Cortana, say, “Hey Cortana, open Xbox.”
Dolby Vision video streaming comes to Xbox One
Dolby Vision allows select TVs to take HDR up a notch with scene-by-scene precision and accuracy versus standard HDR. If you have a TV that supports the latest version of Dolby Vision and a Premium Netflix subscription, jump in and experience Dolby Vision for yourself.
Narrator supports new languages
We’ve added support for five additional languages for Narrator on Xbox One: Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, and Dutch. We’ve also added Australian English for Narrator, in addition to U.S. and UK English.
Search includes games you own
Search has expanded to include games that are “Ready to install” or currently owned as part of your memberships, including Xbox Game Pass, EA Access, and more. It’s easier than ever to find the game you’re looking for and start playing.
