that is the only reason I stick with Windows 10 as my main pc. Gaming ability. I’ve got a Mac which is much better and doesn’t do unpredictable things or get updates every five seconds. It’s not perfect but it’s far less likely to get my blood pressure on the rise. If macs weren’t so super expensive and lame for games I would of turned my back on windows long ago. That being said I’ll take windows 7 over 10 and Mac OS any day. The last great OS that never bit me unexpectedly. Pretty rock solid. And no ultra unreliable modern store based apps!

MS needs to stop this twice a year feature update release. Even once a year is too much. It’s causing far too much grief. Bugs piling ontop of bugs. Things breaking left right and centre. No idea how long your pc will be supported and continue to be offered updates until it falls off Microsoft’s VIP list. And how does a normal person interpret say a specs list for say a game? A game may say works on windows 10 but maybe it’ll only work on certain versions. There’s no guarantee what works today will work tomorrow or in a few years

they just seem to want to update update update. Change for sake of change as if it’s something to brag about. They even do it with the store apps. Mail and calendar app has been updated many times over this year alone. Even the calculator app has been updated several times in windows 10. I mean why does an app like this need updating so much, it’s a calculator! And of course with every update there is the risk they break it. My voice recorder app is a case example, last update they released 2 or 3 weeks ago broke if and it’s been redundant ever since. Ok I don’t use it much at all but it’s unacceptable they felt the neeed to update and broke it for a fair few people. Tweeting MS or reporting feedback is futile as it gets ignored or a canned response. It’s just more change for sake of it. It needs to stop because most users don’t want constant updates. Pretty sick of it, I just want to turn my machine on and complete a session of computing without some update infesting it. But day by day now you never know what your going to get hit by

and as I write this I see a post about the Xbox October update going live! Give me strength, not content with trying to cripple PCs they are now making our Xbox one play Russian roulette yet again. I know it’s likely to be fine but even a small percentage game of chance is too much in my eyes. I haven’t got the time or money to go about fixing any damage they may or may not do

I will just say this:

• Instead of two, get at one major upgrade per year, two is too much for developers, they have proved more than once that they can't possibly maintain this rate, they are way too... careless, to say the less.
• Can't they just return options to manually install updates? I am one of the few persons maybe tat likes to install them, but when I NEED TO, not whenever they want to. I like to wait to the updates are ready enough to be installed and not cause problems, or even miss stuff (Latest updates for 1803 were a proof of that, they pulled out a KB and re released because, again, they were careless enough to miss something)
• Hire more capable people, at this point I?m assuming you have the cheapest possible people coding an OS, and that is very expensive :V

I do. I've been using it for years, and now it's my main daily driver. I have to keep a foot in the Windows world to support my partner as she works on her PhD - she has to use lots of Windows-only software - so I dual-boot.

This episode has been unbelievably poorly handled. Just the confusion in this Forum is an indication of this. Rumors, misinformation, nobody knows what's going on. IMO, 'nobody' extends right on up into Microsoft. I so much wanted MS to do better with Windows, but it's gotten away from them. Too complex, too many hardware/software permutations, too many layers of cruft.

I've been a MS customer since their only product was a BASIC interpreter, but I have had enough. I guess I'll probably dual-boot Windows forever, though. As long as my partner needs support.

Josey Well said! MS are rapidly loosing user confidence, if they don't improve on the delivered product users will treat them like VW that is, loss of consumer confidence.
