Hopefully there won't be soon once they fix the Windows 10 October 2018 Update and re-release it to the public.

Now enough is enough. They will drive us nuts....
They released 17763.55 to the general public and 17763.17 to Insiders? Is this a joke?

Thank God I was never offered 1809!!!!
Sigh . . . I had 1809.1 through WU, so decided to leave things alone, since there were no problems with it. Today I was offered a cumulative update, which brought my install to 17763.55.

Only a guess, and I've already been wrong so many times I should learn my lesson, but maybe once you get 17763.17 you'll be offered a cumulative update to 17763.55?

My head hurts… Could someone put this in layman's terms; Do I need to install a second 1809 update? or am I good once I install the latest CU on the "broken" 1809 update from last week?
Faith, just sit tight, install what Windows Update gives you and hope for the best. That's what I'm doing and everything seems OK so far.

You should be good once you install the cumulative update. FWIW, Microsoft will see that we all get to the same Build numbers.

Quite frankly, I think there's been way too much speculation, mine included, about what went wrong . . . and how to fix it . . . I think I'm just gonna sit back and wait for WU to give me what I need.

    Wait is official advice.

In the end, if you backup all your valuable data AS YOU SHOULD be doing, this risk is minimal.

I NEVER uograde at any time without ensuring my valuable data is backed up first.

build 17763.17 is for slow and release preview rings so people with older versions of windows eg 1803 can upgrade without the file deleting bug you are fine with 17763.55 Wynona that's right version and yes ones that upgrade with either SR or PR should get CU to go to 17763.55 is my understanding
