My friend this is Microsoft we're talking about. You're never good as long as new things/updates/functionality is introduced.
I sincerely hope you and all of us us are "good", for tonight!!!!!

I like that comment someone made that we should just turn off the computer and wait 6 months.

So Insider Preview is now ... behind 1809 + CU?

    My head hurts.

I imagine the code has branched off into 2 tracks so neither is ahead or behind the other.
    • The CU for the non-Insiders who are using 1809 and happy with their files (presumably not having the scenarios in the 1st post)
    • This update for Insiders to attempt to fix the problem, and also check out there are no negative effects before releasing more widely.

Once they are happy with the fix then presumably it will get released as part of a later CU and baked into some new ISOs.

That's the way I read it anyway.

I am subscribed to the insider program on the Release Preview (fixes, apps, and drivers) and got 17763.55.

I upgraded to 1809 the day it came out and have had no issues at all with any of it including this update.

My machine has been, and continues to run as good or better than it did on 1803. Just lucky I guess.

    peace

Just updated to.55 today. MS got their watches broke... They should send this out earlier today..

All this information about Microsoft moving, copying, duplicating, deleting PERSONAL files all over the place, I'm seriously considering giving Linux another go. I tried out Ubuntu but decided it wasn't quite for me but have been advised on some other versions like Mint that might be more suited. After todays 1809 update my event log is full of changes to profile security permissions, who knows what they are really up to.

Wish Microsoft wasn't so confusing lol, why didn't they make the insiders version like .56 or 57 LOL, then release cumulative for users having no issues a bit higher than .55 would make more sense really, but it's Microsot we're talking about, so confusion is probably there middle name lol

I clean installed via the Media Creation tool ISO Tuesday night 10/2, no issues, 2 machines got it via WIndows update, also no issues, so really hoping don't have to reinstall a whole new build cleanly lol
