Important
- All security and nonsecurity updates for Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1 require the installation of update 2919355. We recommend that you install update 2919355 on your Windows Server 2012 R2-based, Windows 8.1-based, or Windows RT 8.1-based computer so that you receive future updates.
- If you install a language pack after you install this update, you must reinstall this update. Therefore, we recommend that you install any language packs that you need before you install this update. For more information, see Add language packs to Windows.

- For Windows RT 8.1, this update is available through Windows Update only.
- For Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10, version 1607, the updates may not be installed automatically. To get this update:
- Select Start, and then type Check for updates.
- Select Check for updates.

Prerequisites
When you install both the servicing stack update (SSU) (
KB4132216) and this update from the Microsoft Update Catalog, install the SSU before you install this update.
