You're welcome. Watch out next time, since you're clever enough to be using the WU show/hide tool, you're warned, beforehand!

I just got : "intel corp system 8/22/2018 12:00:00 am 9.21.0.3755" offered to me in WU (show/hide tool) along with a windows defender update ... and like a retardo I installed it. I restarted as requested and when I came back up my realtek sound driver was gone and my Settings were acting weird when I tried to view the installation in history. Couldn't scroll and stuff.
So I Macrium'ed back to last nights image and I now have hid that intel thing whatever it is. I don't get much back on it from Google but i didn't really look hard - maybe a sound driver or microcode I don't know. I now have blocked driver updates. I prefer to get them directly from HP site if necessary anyway.
I'm having the same problem as well and I tried to reinstall the sound driver but nothing happened. According to my Device Manager, the Intel High Definition Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio have a yellow triangle with the status This device cannot start (Code 10). The request is not supported. I need help and I want to get this laptop's sound working again. :'( And yes I have Build 1809 on Windows 10 64-bit laptop.

Did you try right clicking in the device than clicking update driver than have windows search automatically for a better driver?

Did that? Nothing worked. Couldn't find anything.

I also just started having the same problem! Never before have I come across this! I went back to the previous restore point and then I got my sound back, but then it updated and so no sound again! I've now since disabled updates and will again go back to a restore point where I know I can have my sound back... until this can be sorted out.

On average, how long does a system restore take for you? I'm at system restore for almost 2 hours now and I don't want to risk screwing it up. It's stuck at System Restore is restoring the registry and nothing has changed. Still waiting.

Earlier today I realized I am not getting anymore the Audit Warning 5061 in Events log. Installing KB4462919 must of have fixed it. If you are or were getting it, you might want to ckeck, probably you ll be pleased as its likely its gone for good for you too as well.

I see. I'm right now waiting for the system restore to be done so I can see. I haven't touched anything and I'm NOT force shutting it down. Doing that will really screw it up.

Mine took about 30 minutes, I think, I can't honestly remember. I do however remember getting a bit panicky as I thought it was taking so long but it wasn't an hour I'm sure. I've still yet to do it again so when I do I'll let you know.

How do I pick and choose which updates I want. And is there a way to pause or prevent automatic updates ?I want to manually start updates
