    Well it installed OK but was far too slow on my i7 desktop. Considering it was a 'minor' upgrade on the main 1809 why did it take so long and with the really annoying black screen with the 'Setting-up Personal settings' window that can last for ages. MS need to do a lot better on this with cumulative updates; I have work to do and so do my staff!

    "DCOM got error "1115" attempting to start the service SecurityHealthService with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server:"

    For those who saw this error under Event ID: 10005, all you need is just disable these two;

    (Windows Defender Security Center Service)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SecurityHealthService

    (Security Center service)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wscsvc

    The only thing I have noticed is that Windows Explorer "safely remove hardware and eject media" icon is now on the Taskbar when before was in Show Hidden Icons and I do not get the message when it is safe to remove.
    My experience with this problem is to put Focus Assist Off. Open Action Center at the far right bottom corner of your screen and left-click on "Focus Assist" once or twice until it is off and then try "Safely remove hardware" and your notification (message) should appear. After that, do the same to put Focus Assist back to whatever fits your need: "Priority only" or "On".

    Updated a couple of hours ago and noticed my cpu usage numbers are way off the mark in task manager

    I also keep getting notifications bugging me about turning on virus protection, even though Bitdefender Free is running.

    What is the status of this upgrade for computers that have not installed it? My main desktop has it installed, 1809, but my other computers are running 1803 17134.345 and WU does not bring up 1809.

    The roll out is suspended until Microsoft fix the issues and re-release 1809.

    No, WU will not find it, all sources of 1809 have been pulled. However, if your desktop intalled it without problems it's safe to continue using it. The problems (if any) only occured during installing the update.

    Last week we paused the rollout of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) for all users as we investigated isolated reports of users missing files after updating. Given the serious nature of any data loss, we took the added precaution of pulling all 1809 media across all channels...

    Thanks. The problem is that this problem happens even when plugged in.
    This little prog might help, if not it puts a handy icon in notification area of taskbar which can be easily adjusted and means less clicks to change the brightness. In the settings put a check at 'Same laptop brightness for battery and plugged'.
