Dell Venue Pro 11 7130 is upgraded, and the Surface Pro 3 (Skippy) and XPS 2720 (now returned to duty as a test machine) are both underway. SP3 is in the post-GUI "Working on Updates" while the XPS 2720 is on GUI install at 24%. No gotchas just yet, though I notice the fingerprint sensor on the SP4 Keyboard (with sensor, natch) isn't working properly or reliably. May have to take the UI's advice and clean the darn thing!

[PS added 20 Mins later] Surface Pro 3 got to first reboot, came up completely hosed. Couldn't even make boot repairs or roll back to previous install using a repair/recovery UFD. So I'm clean-installing 1809 because I'm sending this machine off to Miles this weekend anyway. Makes a virtue of a necessity! But man, that upgrade went totally and completely sideways. Wow!

That's the problem with a monopoly ... I thought the Insider program was about establishing the completeness , but I was wrong - it's lunacy, IMHO.
Probably because RTM is done much earlier than when it's released, Insider builds are on day to day basis.

Craig, it seems to me that MS are sitting on their butts and letting Insiders do their work for them regarding bugs. It would be a far better experience if Windows was Open Source. Guess I should install Linux
Doogs, ít's not so much about jumping ship...albeit I am a huge Linux fan

I'm disappointed with the way things are going at Redmond.. priorities seem skewed.. Ninja cats and stupid tweets as an example - then the deficiencies with last couple of GA's...

Wow! 6 hours ago this Skippy build was release and I just noticed it - been too busy playing with Release Preview issues. Now downloading on two computers.

Man, these Insider Preview updates are getting stranger each time, especially on my laptop. First it's the sitting at Downloading 99% for extended periods of time (which I know how to get around) and now the Status merry-go-round. I bet it's been thru the getting things ready 4~5 times now and installing at least twice. Still hasn't gotten to the reboot ... lol
