I think .17 was for people still on 1803.
Yes, I think you are right. Now you mention it, I seem to recall it was specifically for 1803 users who could switch to being Insiders as a means of testing if the 'delete all user files on upgrade' bug had been fixed. The same fixes (plus a few more) were also in .55 for those already on the public 1809.

Today we take the next step towards the re-release of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update by providing the updated version to our Windows Insider community.

Nothing unless it's causing a trouble and that can be fixed only manually. Best to not let it stay there, just use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall programs/APPs, it will clean up anything there would be left otherwise. Since Vista or W7, registry is not read whole but goes straight to place needed so anything left doesn't do anything to performance.
I also appreciate your suggestion @CountMike, but one last question: Isn't Revo Uninstaller a kind of registry cleaner too. If so, what makes it so different compared to other registry cleaners?

Well, I guess you're right, Bree! Looky this!

    Attachment 211863

I don't have a clue how that happened, except that I opted in for the "early release" of 1809 like a lot of us did. I guess that removed me from the Insider Program, so I'm gonna go see if I can reverse the process.
And now that I have put my brain in gear and reined in my typing fingers, I know exactly what's what with 1809 and me!

As per usual, I installed the October 2018 Update through WU. It is named Windows 10 Production on this dual boot system and is not enrolled in the Insider Program. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

From the October 2018 Update, I got a CU that changed my version to 17763.55. What I missed was the notification that I could join the Insider Program in order to get the next updates. So, that's what I'm gonna do now.

It does remember or finds out everything that a certain program have installed in registry as well as files so it cleans up only those, thoesn't mess with anything else.

    Yeah, I knew that!

I'm dual booting too, so don't have to jump through the hoops you've described. Also, I'm not going to worry whether 1809 goes final on Tuesday or not.

I'd rather wait until Microsoft works the bugs out and releases a viable Updat than have what some of us went through with the original release.
I am not worried about it either just made that statement as one may want to be on what probably will be 17763.111. I would want MS to get ALL the bugs fixed on this as it may be the last Win 10 I will install. It has all the features I need and or want.

Thanks mate! I am counting on giving it a try next time I feel the need of a cleanup after an uninstallation.

If you go to the site, it will explain everything Revo does. Yes, it will go into the registry to remove only what's been installed by the app you're removing.

Their Home Page is most interesting and gives thorough information on what Revo can do:

MS never communicates anything they do not have to. Yes their silence tells a great deal of folks just what an incompetent Corporation does. They will do anything to not accept any blame on this at all. The build was purposely not sent to the release program ring so that they can flood more builds in The Fast and Skip ahead ring. I have sent paragraphs of stuff on this To The Hub and on Twitter. I get the same silence as everyone. The Hub asks me for my email so that they can get back to me, they Never did. I was one of the lucky ones that did not have any issues but I still pursued answers, and got nothing. The people in charge of The Insider Program treat this as if it were some sort of game. I remember when they used to hide the build number embedded in a photo or picture and This Ninja cat thing is unreal. I do not want an Icon of a Ninja Cat on my system.
There used to be two separate Hubs. One for only insiders and another one for non insiders and now everything is all lumped together and I would suppose some Bot only looks at it. Microsoft needs to get rid of The Skip Ahead Ring and only have two rings-Fast and Release Preview and all builds should be self tested inside before sent out to any ring. There is not a need foe two releases a year, one release every year or 18 months would be better. But if that were done they would lose money of hardware that users have to purchase in order to stay compatible with the latest build from MS. This build 17163.XXX , once finalized will be the last Windows 10 Build I will install.

Oh and I got warned on Twitter by Dona Sarkar when I ask for a reply after hearing nothing for two weeks.
Apparently you can't criticize her here either because of the sjw administration

Thanks again @Wynona. I am getting more than I bargain for, but I like that. I am just hoping it is only a one-time and not a subscription-yearly based purchase.

Unfortunately Revo Uninstaller Pro 4 is yearly based subscription!
