Windows 10 October 2018 Update rollout now paused

I have no idea what you're talking about. All my usb 3 storage devices gets detected exactly as they should on my Intel USB3.0 host controller. UASP or no UASP, Thumbdrive, HDD or SSD, makes absolutely no difference.
Where do you look for this information and how does this "bad" detection affect transfer speeds? I have no issues whatsoever.

Who knows… But according to what MS said on the support page for 1809, it's "paused" and will be "resumed". Unless they change their minds, of course..

If it's the latter then people who didn't know about the update - or the pause - will scratch their head by the name "October". The update didn't auto-push to WU on Oct 2nd, so users who already have it deliberately knew about this. It doesn't make much sense if the marketing and welcoming is gated and signed for October when we're currently in November. Either way it doesn't really matter, but I can see it confusing someone if they don't change the name or make it clear in their words when they start the re-roll process. MS should stop calling the updates for months and instead use numbers, quarters, or simply have fun with it, like the 1809 Chocolate Update or something.
The updates are metered out. The name October does not have a bering because many will not even get the update for a few months untill it is their time to recive it automatically unless they manually click check for updates.

OK, I just had some private communication with some inside sources. It is definitely happening today unless they decide to release it another day or not at all. This is from the inside and you can quote me on it.

Yeah that's true. Although I haven't seen the metered rollout since last two updates, even on some dated computers. I checked my update log out of curiosity and it doesn't actually mention October in it, only feature update and 1809. So the "october" part in this update isn't as widespread as I initially thought. I guess it's more for the press?
