You probably know about this: (the update has been repeatedly updated - multiple occurrences in Update History):
Microsoft Releases KB4023057 to Prepare PCs for Windows 10 Version 1809

I've not checked the News article on it. Old news actually.

KB4023057 Update to Windows 10 for update reliability - September 6 - Windows 10 Forums

Perhaps there will be another prior to release of 1809.

I have no idea what you're talking about. All my usb 3 storage devices gets detected exactly as they should on my Intel USB3.0 host controller. UASP or no UASP, Thumbdrive, HDD or SSD, makes absolutely no difference.

Where do you look for this information and how does this "bad" detection affect transfer speeds? I have no issues whatsoever.
I didnt say anything about detection. I say the usb 3 flash drives detected as 2.1 with intel usb 3.0 controllers only. And this is bad because the speed is limited to usb 2.0 speeds. You can see this information in programs like aida64. The problem dont exist with other usb 3.0 controllers and with windows 1803.

Well, I have Intel USB controller on one of my devices and have no issues. The link speed is negotiated correctly.

However, I'm not surprised there are issues. Windows and USB has been horrible since Windows 8.0 got released. Very unpredictable behavior sometimes.
