Microsoft needs to take the month off the name of these updates. Just call it Fall update 2018. Will they ever learn?

It ain't "Fall" all over the world now is it?

    True.
Next one after this one, assuming there is a "this one", will be 19H1. A step in the direction of making it Climate Neutral.

Geographically neutral would be a better term, perhaps?

Any hints as to public re-release yet? How are things progressing with insider testing? This is looking more like the November update.

Whether this is the "final" re-release of the October update probably depends on what this means (from buildfeed) We might find out on Tues October 31 (or maybe Wednesday Oct 32

Although Backup and Restore (Windows 7) is a deprecated feature, I do not see how MS can drop it entirely as it is the only imaging backup tool that works when PC is in S mode from Windows. You actually have to boot into winpe mode to backup using 3rd party tools.

Could also be booted from Live Linux based environment. There are such Linux backup programs.

Sure but my point is that you cannot use Macrium Reflect or similar when running Win10S which then means you cannot schedule backups etc.

Marty, yes that build number is what's on RP and Slow now, has been for while. As for your date predictions, if it turns out to be either one, I'll pass.
