    Hi there.

The market hasn't been too impressed with the way Ms has been conducting its business either -- after a decent continuously rising stock price (on the US NASDAQ market : EPIC : MSFT) it's quite clear that as soon as the 1809 kerfuffle appeared the stock price has been a one way street downwards - yesterday down 1.5% nearly !!

Some changes will come --the one thing that big companies hate is when their stock price starts slipping away --it's almost the only way entrenched CEO's - no matter how bad they may be -- can ever be removed.

I know this isn't a Stocks Forum - but the market movement effects these companies as much as technological items.

    Cheers

Given it is now only one week till end of October, who thinks we will see 1809 soon?

I am betting the heads of the Development Team including ''er Majesty' are sweating a bit now. I am betting we soon see some management carnage and a serious reorganisation...
You may well be right, but I really don't think anyone is updating their resume' just yet. Mediocrity seems to have become the order of the day and complacency is more rampant than Quality Control. QC seems to have been replaced by "Acceptable Risk".

    Hi there

probably a good time to look at buying some MS stock !!!! I can't see this mess being allowed to continue -- Windows needs to get its act together -- especially if you start looking at some of the more recent innovations for desktop versions of Linux and the alternative often 100% FREE compatible clones of Ms Office out there too.

Many people who would have not even thought of ever attempting to use Linux are trying it out and not finding it too horrible -- and more and more people also are learning about and using Virtual Machines. (Of course the Apple Fanbois are still there too enjoying all the mess from the sidelines).

This probably is the Last Chance Saloon for Windows to get its house in order so I too expect there will be some heads rolling and changes at Ms.

Bill Gates must be laughing in his bed -- bet he was glad to get out of the top job when he did .

    Cheers

Release Preview....... Is that the thing MS used to use to check stuff out before Billy Bob and Mary Sue got their hands on it? Sounds familiar........

Yes I know it's a novel concept, but worthwhile.

I've only had one problem and that was with the File & Folder backup. It wasn't backing up small files that were in a directory with large files. I reported the problem and it was fixed in a couple of days. Never had an issue with imaging.
Macrium Reflect never failed me doing a windows restore image on the C drive but File & Folder backup I don't like. It is very slow and it just creates a image that said it would take 11 hours to complete. I use SyncBackFree instead for my D Drive backup.

Most likely a series of 1 or more Cumulatives to patch up your 1809. 1803 users, like me, will get the full package, pre-bandaided. Something like 17763.120. Like....I have no idea. Waiting to see what they throw out to Release Preview next. If that sticks, that will be it.

If so , do you think its worth to roll back to 1803 and upgrade to "final" 1809 next month ?
Why anyway ( ?) , this 1809 runs like a jetfighter and I did not encounter any of these bugs , data lost , etc.........

It definitely not worth it, in my opinion. It might be even sooner than next month, if they will not release another CU for insiders.

Costed me a lot of time to upgrade from 1803 to 1809 , all my settings were lost and had to apply them all again ( same story after every upgrade !)
Missing my Classic Context Menu , which is not supported anymore , we all have to live with this ugly grey, wide "new" menu.
The contextmenus needed some time also ( " open with ".....!)
After all this waste of time , I got a fine OS , which I can work with and then ................the upgrade is paused ( bugs )......!!!
