    i agree and I back up daily with MR - tried to use Windows image program, which I used to run weekly. It doesn’t work any more. I saw another post on one of the forum threads indicating a similar problem.
    Hey!, what do you know?. Coincidentally, I have exactly the same problem with Windows backup system. Scheduled to run every Saturday and Sunday respectively on my 2 machines, it has been failing since after installing 1809 with the error code: 0x80070013 and the message: the external HDD is write-protected. After a little search on the web, it seems that has to do with the fact that Windows backup system is deprecated. I don't even bother with it anymore.

    Sitting on the update page you linked to. Every 2-3 seconds, I F5, it wanders around just like your 3 Amigos!
    Lol, so its no wonder Defender is confused.

    Tomorrows another day

    It's perfectly logical. MS figures if they are just gonna delete your files thru updates or Extract or other Voodoo, why bother giving you a backup app when eventually you'll have nothing left to backup!

    What if it fails you one day. That can definitely happens. That's why I always have two third-party backup apps. I can always count on the other one. It had happened to me in the past even though it was not with MR.

    I have about 10 HDDs for backups but still can't afford so many multiples of same backup. 2 is quite enough.

    @CountMike,

    Totally agree. Unless one spends his/her life palying the devil's advocate, I cannot see how both apps can fail the same day at the same time.
