IMHO a lot of what gets missed now, would likely be found if they switched to a less frequent public release cycle. Once a year instead of twice a year new Builds would be fine with me.
Plus, I wonder what the ratio of people on Slow Ring to High Ring is? Or Skip ahead? How many "Insiders" are actually testing / on, the build that is the next consumer release?
If most have moved on to a newer still in testing build, how many were actually on, testing 1806? Good or bad, I'm not running an insider build on any of my devices.

That I totally agree with and posted it here several times. A release every 6 months is bound to have Bugs, that is why there are so many CU's.

You and a few other members have posted the same thoughts. Even once every year may be too soon. It was years between new versions before Windows 10. I'd also like to see the 10 disappear. Just call it Windows, or put the build number after. Most are already calling it Windows 1809 etc anyway. Stop making users do a winver to sort out where the "hell" they are.

Yes indeed Just "Windows" would do. Windows 10 makes users think there will be a Windows 11.

In my crowd of retired non tech people, when I ask what OS they are running they say Windows. When I ask what version I get the deer in the headlights look. Need I say more.

When are they going to resume the rollout of this update? I reverted back to 1803, because I felt that the 1809 update was too buggy and unstable.

In some ways although it probably would be harder for some people - would be for Windows to install just as a basic minimal OS and then the user could add what utilities they like or a default one that operates like now for people uncomfortable with selecting components to install.

There could say at install time be a "Customized" install where people could select components, or a minimal install which just installs the basic GUI and then you add what you need.
About 5 years ago we used Fedora in one of my "Intro to Linux" subjects at TAFE.
    The installer had 3 options:
    • "Default"
    • "Advanced"
    • "Minimal"

"Default" included a lot of components and software.

"Advanced" let you select items from a huge list.

The instructor told us to build a "Minimal" install VM.
"Minimal" didn't even include all of the Terminal components we required.
We had to redo our installs.

I don't know if the latest versions of Fedora still offer this.

Congratulations Bill. Your POS 1809 update completely crashed my system.
    I think you mean "Nutella".

Come back Bill, "all is forgiven".
I'd even accept the return of Ballmer at this point.

IMO, W10 "should be taken out the back and shot" and a new W11 released (based on proven "obsolete" stable code).

I was all for twice a year updates but after the latest botched update I don't care. First I notice with these big new releases all they do is add junk no one wants. I wanted tab browsing in 1809 but it was pulled because it was too buggy. Instead we get a broken ugly dark theme that I can't separate dark apps from the ugly dark explorer. There so called Material Design is a joke. I want material design in explorer not a dark theme and before anyone says anything. I know about that randsomware POS Aero Glass.

So when the update starts to get pushed again I am not going to force update I will wait until it comes via Windows Update then I will dread when I am forced to use it by then I hope a bunch of future cumulative updates will fix the slow downs, ugly dark explorer and bugs.

As long as W7 & W8.1 exist, W10 will continue to be the moniker.

After the EOL dates, Windows Continuum, Window Flux Redux, Whistle(r) Down (the Windows), or if we're honest 'Pain'.
