My Windows SSD is 250GB and has 47.4GB free but once upon a time was on 120GB SSD, maybe it was set at that time. On the other hand it works full speed at any test, don't think that's slowing it any.

One laptop with 128GB SSD is in compact state, while another one with 500GB SSD + 750GB HDD is not.
Makes perfect sense in my case.
Not in my case. A 1 TB HDD with 852 GB free is in no need of compression. I just decompressed it:
Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17763.55]
(c) 2018 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:\WINDOWS\system32>compact /compactos:never
Completed uncompressing OS binaries.
7027 files within 14652 directories were uncompressed.
C:\WINDOWS\system32>
And now still have 851 GB free. LOL, my biggest performance issue is a slow ISP Internet Speed.

Edit:
Just checked Gayle's Laptop, a 500 GB Hard Drive with 6144 MB DDR4 SDRAM. It was not reset to Compact. Something of a mystery to me.

Can someone advise me that with the 1809 update being paused does it mean that there will be an update for 1809 to cover all problems or was update 330 the update and bits will be added at a later date this may have already have been answered but with nearly two hundred pages it would be a bit of a slog to find it
I cannot say but I do know compactOS was originally primarily intended for tablets which had the old Windows+Bing OS which effectively was a compressed OS using the recovery partition, decompressing the OS files on demand. It was never intended to be used on systems with plenty of storage.
