Well, it is a deprecated feature which by definition means it is no longer supported. MS recommend using 3rd party tools.
That applied to 1709. It merely suggested, that it might be removed in the future, but so far, it is still there and supported.

Does anyone know when 1809 will be available to install using Media Creation Tool? I just did a clean install using the tool I just downloaded and it's 1803.

Point is no OBLIGATION to support it. Anyway it was always, and still is an unreliable tool according to many users (including myself).

Meebers....why is your Insider (Release Preview, I presume) on pause?

Never mind..... You don't wanna 17763 to eat it! My oops....

But MS released it to Insider Slow and Release Preview for testing.... before re-relasing it as 1809.xxxxxxxx

I am just simply waiting until the dust settles. I know that the latest insider version was "fixed" and all, but will resume it (maybe tomorrow) or when the next insider version is released. I am on 1809 17763.55 on my non insider SSD without having any issues with that install or operation. I chose not to go back to 1803. (I rotate ssd's via front panel between insider/non insider OS's, about a 30 second task).

Yes you are correct about 17763
