Yeah, and how many of the reports are anecdotal? (The user has no idea about KFR and when it was enabled or took any consideration regarding installation or upgrade preparations/considerations and backups?)
I also accept that there were a percentage of users who are still unaware they may have lost data (haven't looked yet) and a percentage who would have been affected but the update was pulled.
So far I've updated half a dozen machines with the 'faulty' ISO and suffered no ill-effects (they all had watertight backup strategies, obviously).

I have the latest update for 1809. And so far I haven't noticed or had any problems. Maybe I am just lucky.

I know a great many people who wouldn't know a problem if it kicked them square in the jollies! Not saying that applies to you but there are Windows users who think everything is just the way it was intended. No matter how broken it actually is.

Anyone else have that? Only he and i have noticed it so far it seems.

Had an Internet Explorer page 'jitter' when a video auto played (like it was trying to jump to full screen and failing, giving black flashes on the page) opened the (off-MSN News) page a try in Chrome and it played without issue.

So most of us know that the safest way to store user data is on a drive that's not C: right? Usually a secondary drive. Often, 'D:' There are of course, and always have been, OS default folders for Documents, Downloads etc at C:\Users\<Username>
My files are on a 1 TB spinner called Data (I). I didn't lose any files; however, if I had lost files, my Macrium Reflect full (Sundays) and definition (all other days) backups would take care of the matter.
Why is it that some people are so attached to these default folders that they can't help but use them?
Could it possibly be that not everyone needs to or understands how to put their files elsewhere? After all, there are those out there who aren't as savvy as Insiders and who don't use their computers in the same way we do.
Is it Microsoft brainwashing? Is it a pavlovian response? Microsoft rings a bell and everyone drops their data in those folders? Do people know they don't have to use those folders? Do people know they can create folders with the same names on D: for example. (Adding shortcuts for these folders to Quick Access/Desktop/Taskbar as needed?)
Sorry, but this is so condescending, demeaning, judgmental of folks who aren't as savvy as we are, that I have to object. No matter how you slice it or dice it (sorry, Slice), Microsoft has made it easy for the novice to use Windows by providing folders (directories) so he/she can save his/her files and find them later on. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Microsoft providing these folders! IOW, the Downloads, Documents and Pictures folders are a convenience provided by Microsoft.
I hear some people are so attached to these default folders, that even when they do use a secondary drive for user data, they 'move' the default folders rather than creating new ones? Why? Do people not know that you can set most programs to 'Save' or 'Download' to any user created folder no matter where it is?
What is it about C:\Users\<Username> that is so compelling to people that they can't live without it?
Again, this is demeaning, judgmental and condescending . . .
Edit: To play Devils advocate i suppose if a PC has several users, using the default folder hides user data from each other? (Providing the users aren't Admin who can see all profile folders)?
I don't see a problem with the arrangement. When a computer is shared by a family, the Admin is normally a parent, who should and in my opinion, must know what the kids are doing. That's just one reason for having an Admin . . . Any other grownups should buy their own computer if they don't like the situation.

@Wynona thank you for this. I keep feeling like everyone is just bashing Microsoft for every problem that existed before this build and may not be Microsoft's fault. I think that we are here to make 'constructive' commentary and provide information via Feedback Hub that enables correction of problems. We all have a choice - to be a member of the Insider group, or to not be a member!
