In the end, I searched high and low until I found a signed driver.

This change in behaviour is too draconian - whether it is a bug or deliberate, I cannot say
You can self-sign drivers but it is a real pain to do so. Well you could on 1803 - I've not tried on 1809 yet.

I think they certainly did it deliberately.

Make everything worse year by year until both Office 2016 and 2019 expire (at the same time oddly) and then require a subscription.

Now that would make a good tutorial. I will try and work out how (if you have any pointers, that would be appreciated).

Edit - I think I have found out how to do it.

    cheers

    RE: Network drivers missing

It really does not matter what happened under the hood, the bottom line is after 1809 I had no functional networking, completely unacceptable. No issues with deletes files under Documents however.

Just a massive logical flaw somewhere in their processes. This is a super mega bug and a massive bad publicity and loss of credibility.

THAT would be worth posting please. I have several old machines that will need it (assuming I get the problem of course!)
Anyone else seen this driver signing problem?

While you are waiting, and you seemed to be concerned about loosing your files, why not do a backup? At least copy all your personal User Files and data off to external storage of some type. Backups are good.

Have had some strange behavior with networking. Internet explorer would get to all external sites (outside of our Intranet) however Edge kept coming back saying there was no connection. Has anyone else seen this bug? Workaround?
