I do not undertand one thing in the new FDR blog.

"Today we take the next step towards the re-release of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update by providing the updated version to our Windows Insider community."

How can we install the new updated version as a new later Insider version has been released?

Also, anybody who has had issues has already lost the data, and the fix is no use for those who did not lose data. So who can test it? How can MS get any significant feedback?

The only way I can see to do this is if we all set up test cases with FDR, and the fix is included in the next Insider build.

Makes no sense to me either.
It was to Release Preview Ring only. It was at 17763.1. Now at 17763.17 or 17763.55, depending on which confusing path you took. Dona assures us if you did the .55, you got the .17. Fast and Skippy are toddling along at 18252, oblivious to the mayhem behind. Slow Ring is wherever it is, don't care! According to the MS in-the-knows, when RP gets the blessing (fatality rate below .01%), a new and improved 1809 will hit the streets. I am on 1803, deferred for 30 days. Film at 11................

Dirk Gently , looks like its definitly not supported ( possible) anymore !
Im afraid we have to live with this ugly contextmenu , in 1809 , untill some fix will arrive ..........
I decided not to roll-back for this problem only , coz all is working very good .

btw; its no difference , clean install or upgrade , the Classic Context Menu is killed by MS........( thanks !)

We had or atleast I had such situations while I was Windows Mobile Insider Insider new insider build was a lower number and new production build older was a higher or biger number. So I'm not surprised.

@VBF All my user folders, Documents, Pictures, Videos, Music, etc are moved to another drive. For me its D:\Documents, D:\Pictures etc. During the upgrade I selected "only store files locally on this PC" when I got to the OneDrive setup menu. And that was the original setting I used when I did my original clean install of 1803. I didn't lose any files. I've since rolled back to 1803 because of other issues.

Sorry but... what setup menu? I didn't saw any menu during upgrading/installation. The only thing I saw were the %s rolling by and I never saw one settings menu. Or is it just during a clean install?

Exactly what I do and have always done. NEVER used OneDrive for anything serious.

Do my own backups to drives which are then disconnected from the PC.

I do use Dropbox and Google drive on the grounds that MS has no control over them! And yes, I do understand their particular security issues....before anyone mentions them!

    And......
