Does anybody know if the file deletion problem in build 17763.1 is also in the Enterprise Edition. Serious stuff if it is
Hope Microsoft doesn't just force a sllent fix.

Ditto - and only if you know exactly what, where and how. Starting from simple re-installation of everything you had installed and finishing with fiddling with buried GUI options and registry tweaks.
Even simple File History session is a nightmare as it requires full resync, with previous version to be ditched. And then there's Search Index that needs building and takes ages to complete.
So, waste of time IMHO.
Me too, from further back than that. I started by upgrading from OEM Win7 to 1507 then every subsequent update up to and including 1809.
A clean install would be a disaster for me. I have amongst other things some OEM-installed Office apps that are impossible to reinstall. Their keys show each app was individually installed, but you can't get stand-alone installers for Word, Excel, etc. any more - just the Office suite for which these keys won't work.
Ah yes, all this OEM-supplied stuff that I forgot to include above as well, of course. Another can of joy...
Hi Bo, Thanks very much for your in depth feedback. I too have done what you did. I decided it was safer to Roll Back to 1803 because I was noticing speed issues too but no loss of files. I was surprised how quick it was...the whole process took about 15 minutes! I thought that it would have set up 1803 to the point when I downloaded it using the Media Creation Tool back in May. By that I mean I thought all security updates and Cumulative updates would have to be redownloaded again to bring 1803 back up to date. That wasn't the case it replaced 1803 build on my laptop fully updated to the point right before the 1809 feature update had been installed on October 2nd.
The questionnaire you refer to I selected that the previous build was more reliable. Im not sure that Microsoft will take that answer into consideration when deciding whether to push the fixed 1809 version to you immediately or not. I suspect they might be using that feedback to assess which problems people are having that's all. Just a guess but you may be right I don't know
Some 1809 downloads are back up on My Visual Studio, Language Packs, features on Demand, ADK etc. No actual OS install media though. Just a FYI post.
