Windows 10 October 2018 Update rollout now paused

Hi, folks, so, the whole summer I enjoyed 1803 - was running just perfectly.
On Tuesday the 2nd I downloaded the iso from MCT, burned it onto dvd, format the whole drive and installed the 1809. No problems with that at all, of course all my personal files were backed up on external SSD.
Well, as some fellow members here reported there are issues with the brightness, which automatically returns back to 50 percent after boot. The same is happening to me plus the night light setting, which doesn't follow the sunrise-sunset time. My 2 video drivers are freshly updated but still no any result. CCleaner always finds this issue:

If any of you, folks can tell me where shoud I look at, it will be very appreciated.

When the new iso from MCT is available for download, does it mean that it will contain eventually the new patch?

    Hi,
Windows 10 1809 build was installed through Windows Update on the 2nd October on my laptop.
Ive only just found out on here that Microsoft have since pulled the update because of problems. I don't appear to have lost any files during the update and haven't noticed any problems as such yet. Boot up on the other hand does seem slower. There may be other problems but I just haven't come across them yet.
What should I do? Ive read that you can Roll Back to 1803 if its within 10 days though I don't know how reliable that method is. Is it done through Update and Security/Recovery and select Go back to a Previous Version?

Would it be recommended to Roll Back to 1803 and then wait for 1809 to come through Windows Update again when its fixed over the coming days?
I did the Roll Back, quick and painless. I had performance issues though. Just FYI . If you copy your Windows.old to external media before it gets deleted you may be able to do it after the ten days. Not 100% about that. My understanding is a scheduled disk cleanup deletes it after 10 days, and once its gone, no roll back option. I'm sure those in the know will chime in to tell me if I'm right or wrong on that. It used to be 30 days to do a Roll Back.

During installation (upgrade) I got "Page fault in non-paged area" and I needed to do a manual reboot to finish the installation. Now most of the time when I reboot I get the same error. Never happened before the upgrade.
I contacted Microsoft and they spent about two and a half hours trying to fix the problem (they took over my computer remotely). Unfortunately nothing they did worked and they suggested I roll back to 1803. As a last resort I tried a fresh install of 1809 and it worked! I have been updating this OS since Vista 64 and I guess something undetectable by me or Microsoft must have been installed that was not compatible with 1809,

This is precisely why I do clean install the big updates.

MS did have "standards" (if you want to call them that) in place in that, with prior releases, they let the Insiders have the release a week or two prior to General Availability (GA) -- presumably to do some final testing and shakeout.

Some folks on this very forum were predicting GA to be 10/9 or 10/16 -- but not 10/2.

Instead, MS released 1809 on 10/2 -- thus circumventing their own "standards".

This negative press they are getting now is no one's fault other than their own -- for rushing the release out early.

Well by my calculations its now 9 AM in Redmond. Conversation should be interesting, at the water cooler, in the break room, at the coffee machine, board room etc.

I've said this before and I keep repeating myself. This build is not ready for release. Something is off but I can't say exactly what it is. This release has been producing non-reproducible issues at random since they started developing it 6 months ago. I've had a bad vibe since then and I'm still confident there is something terribly wrong and MS has no clue what it is.

I do not get this vibe - in fact the update and its result have been quick and uneventful. New version definitely faster/snappier. I sure hope they will be able to figure out what's going on, what combo of hardware or such manifests the problem. Time will tell...
