I haven't been in the insider program for a while. The usual long list of "known issues" turned me away from wanting to run them. Plus it would only be on my spare desktop so I'd have to force myself to boot it up and use it. It didn't happen all that often so I gave up on it.
Anyway, those that are can likely comment on what's there and what's not.
My thinking is, if a feature was removed in the Fast Ring Build, do they still patch it in the Slow Ring build? Assuming it needs to be patched fixed. Or just wait till that build is gone and Slow Ring moves to a new build. And if something is added, it can't be patched in the older builds as its not there? So obviously one patch won't work. Unless I guess if it looks for said feature and doesn't do anything if its not there? There are so many dependencies that I think its a lot more complicated that we think, or can comprehend. For me it is anyway.
This upgrade was by far the worst for me as far as issues go in a long time. My system was crippled performance wise and reliability wise. Major networking issues too. Not ip6 related either, as near as I can tell. The Store and all my Apps worked Ok, just big delays and lag loading anything.
How I would imagine progression thru those steps, I think it's logical.
Last public build + very new stuff = Skippy,
Skippy + some fixes to new stuff = Fast Bad failures of new stuff left for next Skippy to be fixed, do not propagate them.
Fast + more fixes = Slow
Slow + all that may remain suspicious fixed to produce RTM (no new stuff since Skippy, only fixes missed in slow). Canary builds are internal so their team can check them out.

Hello guys! I just want to ask a question,it's quite silly though. So if I manually check for updates through the Windows Update, will it not start downloading October Update ?

Not yet, MS has pulled it. Maybe tomorrow though.

The only other way would be an update to 1803 builds but I think you are right.
Patching 1803 first would only work if you upgraded via Windows update. Or upgraded online with check for updates. Anybody the goes offline and upgrades via an ISO (the current one) for example wouldn't get the fix. Thats my logic for it not happening via a CU. IMHO it makes much more sense to patch the image. But then again, Microsoft, common sense, um?

Nope, not until they deem it fixed. Right now I think that ISO is not even available any more.

That would be an oxymoron . It just seems that no from MS reads The Hub, as this problem was reported.

Microsoft pulled 1809 and Server 2019 off of My Visual Studio. They aren't listed for download anymore.
You can, or at least could get product Codes though. I'd already claimed mine.

I personally don't think there will be a CU to fix it. It would have to be applied before you upgrade to prevent the "isolated" (< Microsoft's words, not mine) cases of file lose. It's not going help them after the fact. I think a new ISO / image will be released with the fix backed in. Just my 2 cents.
That would be optional if MS would allow it to be,,
