Some think it may have something to do with Files On Demand?
    That would make sense.
It's pretty recent that they changed OneDrive to sync Documents etc.

So if you had Documents etc. synced to Onedrive, but those folders were Files on Demand and in the cloud (so you don't have the physical files on your drive any more) then you could see how that might go wrong when they migrate to the new Windows installation's Users folder. And then maybe OneDrive uses the C: drive version as the "Master" copy and deletes the cloud version? Just guessing though - I'm pleased to say I'm not affected by it.

Neither do I. I always, always do an MR backup before I install anything from MS.
Seems like lots of people have successful installs and have experienced no problems @Josey Wales but I know that doesn’t forgive MS for their failure to heed the warnings via feedback hub.

I have used Macrium by mounting a back up image and have restored files that I have accidentally deleted or to use as comparison etc.

The only problem I am having with 1809 is on my desktop when I minimize FF to task bar, it will show a white screen when attempting a maximize or just not respond at all. Restart "cures" that problem

If I already have the media creation tool for 1809, is it safe to fresh install it or should I wait for a patch?

@meebers I just checked my install that has FF on it and no problem; minimizes normally and maximizes as it should.

After reading about possible data losses in conjunction with upgrading I checked my folder in "C:\users..." and realized that during the upgrade process the content of my "videos" folder was deleted. Not that it's a real issue since I've got plenty of backups but it's still unacceptable. This is something that mustn't happen, don't they test the upgrade process? Apparently there were even warnings vià their feed-back app which they ignored Sorry MS, as much as I like Windows, this is a huge f... up! But then again, I've never understood why one would actually want to store files on the system disk in the first place. Let alone the lack of storage of SSDs it's obviously a risk to keep important files on the same disk as the OS.

No issues files missing so far on one PC. Although i happen to notice i gained about 2GB of space on C: drive never happened before when also removing Windows.old and Windows BT. Also ran SFC and it found corrupt files and was able to fix them, DISM went fine.

I would not do a thing until MS releases 1810.

I think I might just custom install 1803 and start over...stupid MS!
